Once there was a world’s end.

The forests burned, the lakes and rivers dried up, and the oceans swelled.

Then came a plague, and fever spread across the globe. Families died, violence reigned, and man killed man.

Next came WICKED, who were looking for an answer. And then they found the perfect boy.

The boy’s name was Thomas, and Thomas built a maze.

Now there are secrets.

There are lies.

And there are loyalties history could never have foreseen.

This is the story of that boy, Thomas, and how he built a maze that only he could tear down.

All will be revealed.

I REALLY REALLY love this book! I am a Glader and already read all 5 books in Maze Runner Series. I would say James Dashner is my favourite Dystopian Author ever. This series blown my mind off. I don’t know why several persons hate this series. Maze Runner is my favourite Dystopian novel <3 I can’t find the lack of the writing (excepts for Deedy’s death (u-know-who-right?) and the death cure’s ending).

RATE – 4.7 stars

Plot- This book is the lightest book among the other 4 books because it is telling about how the Gladers, Thomas, Newt, Minho, Teresa, etc got into WICKED. Not like the other books, this book used 3rd POV. And mostly It tells about the main characters,Thomas, Minho, Newt and Teresa ‘childhood’ with WICKED. Reading this book making me sad because they get treated and expectation like an adult since kid and they couldn't recognize themselves when they got into the Maze.

Actually, I can see why some people don’t like the book or worst, DNF it. Because they story only linger among their child life, not like the other 4 books which contain action, adventure, riddle, etc. But I enjoy it so I can feel their miserable life deeper

This book answered all our questions, how they end up in WICKED, why non-munies hate the munies, who is the bad and who is the good, who are they before they are WICKED, why Teresa and Thomas played important roles in WICKED, how the virus spread, and is WICKED good?

If you really love TMR series, I UTTERLY RECOMMEND YOU TO READ THIS BOOK! There are somes SURPRISING and HEART-BREAKING secrets unveil! If you haven’t read the other 4 books, I think it is okay for you to read this first, but if I am you, I will read the first book first. The choice is in your hand!
WICKED IS GOOD, MINHO IS BAE, oh lol xD

The book is really intriguing.
It is not so complicated like other dystopian books. I bought this book without knowing anything about the book. When I first read it, I never thought it would be alien-story-book because it is DEFINITELY not my style. ALSO, it has multiple POVs , I never thought the book has... 4 POVs without  the character POVs written on the beginning of the POVs. Which I need to guess whose POV it is by myself. I really don’t have idea about it so when it turned out to be the second POV I was like… whut? At least I realized it soon. Well, I did regret a bit because reading a book about alien would be the last of my choice! But anyway I kind of enjoying it  ~

PLOT
Okay, since this is my first alien-novel, it is kinda good (?) Because AT LEAST the aliens are not like the ‘alien’ on TV. I mean, the aliens lived in human’s body, yeah , some kind of like that. It started that they are in the 4th wave and are getting ready for the 5th wave. Long story short, it is about a girl named Cassie who was separated with her only family left, her little brother. So she take the attempt to rescue her brother and… yeah the story just linger around it. And the aliens are kind of confusing, because their attentions are hard to decipher. They made 4 waves so far and, if they want to own the earth, why they didn’t kill all humans at once? Oh that remain questionable .

THE CHARACTERS

Cassie -  She is really vulnerable after losing her family but she cope with it in order to save her brother. Her only weapon is M16 which I am glad she have it because YOU CAN’T SURVIVE if you don’t have any weapon. She is a caring, bold, strong and unreliable girl. Her only goal is to get her brother back in her arm. Well, nothing really interesting about her character except that she had a long-term crush towards someone who is like 99% doesn’t even realize her existence.  Well she has one common thing with me, which is writing diary. She bring her diary all of the time and write all things in it which is not likely me. I won’t write all things there (I am a lazy bum lol) especially when we are in ‘a war’.

Evan Walker – He really has many secrets and so good in covering them. His personalities are perfect except his IDENTITY. Cassie is really glad to get Evan’s help at the time. He is kind, warm-hearted, strong,  and sympathy-hearted. I really love the character but I DID REGRET checking the movie actors because…. The actor (which I don’t know his name) IS 100% NOT SUITABLE TO BE EVAN WALKER. Evan is supposed to be kind, good and harming (overall- have  good-looking and kind face). But the actor looks fierce, strong, a fighter, etc. I don’t know how to read the next book when I HAVE to imagine the character L #please #don’t #bash #me , #no #hate, #just #saying.

Ben Parish – He is the reason why I read the book so fast despite having many homework and stuffs.  Cassie has a crush on him and he never know about it. He is in popular category pupils in the high school. He is so kind and attractive (I don’t have to question why he is so popular lol XD) And what I love more is he is positive-thinking, helpful, good leader and care for the others <3 Also, *SPOILERSSSSS!!!!What a great coincidence he meets Cassie’s brother, Sam Sullivan and takes care of him well (he is not aware that Sam is Cassie’s brother nor that he know Cassie). Although things doesn’t went well for him though, at least Sam is be able to comfort himself thanks to Ben.

Ringer- She is ruining my OTP actually, but I accept her by the end of the novel because she is strong, quick-witted, brave and invulnerable. She is great and have fighting vibe in her. What I don’t like is the actress, nope, not the actress, but the actress makeup in the movie. THE EYELINER like director-nim, what in the world you are doing? I was about to accept the OTP but seeing her makeup like totally bad girl it drag me down:\

Sam Sullivan – Cassie’s little brother, he is brave and quite matures for his age. He is so pity because he needs to go through the circumstances in his age, apart from his family, vulnerable and clueless. Luckily Ben is there for him :D He is cute by the way, he didn’t show his fear in front of his family because he didn’t want to worry them.

Last thought
It is a great book but not the best. It doesn’t have roller-coaster riding (glad it doesn’t have it xD). Rick Yancey , you are a great writer (Y)
The book is perfect before I found the actress and actresses. ( Cassie, Ben, Sam are suitable though). I hope the sequel won’t let me down :D
Also, I really love the waves idea. So I am sharing them with you down below! (Source from Wikipedia)

First Wave: Lights Out: During the first wave, the Others release an EMP wave that takes out all electronics/lights/technology and kills half a million people by shorting out all moving vehicles, including planes in mid-flight.

Second wave: Surf's Up: The Others, realizing that roughly 40 percent of Earth's population lives within 60 miles (97 km) of coastline, drop enormous rods "twice as tall as the Empire State Building and three times as heavy" (45) onto the Earth's fault lines, causing massive tsunamis that wipe out three billion people.

Third wave: Pestilence: The Others launch a scheme to infect as many remaining survivors as possible with a deadly virus. Using the Earth's birds as carriers (via falling excrement), the plague claims 97 percent of remaining survivors. The virus, which resembles an advanced form of Ebola, causes victims to slowly bleed to death until eventually "you've become a viral bomb. And when you explode, you blast everyone around you with the virus" (46).

Fourth wave: Silencers: After the 3rd wave, the remaining human population tries desperately to survive off whatever resources remain by looting, all the while clinging to the hope that "the people in charge", wherever they may be, are working toward a solution. Eventually, this belief seems legitimate when an impressive battalion of soldiers (with functioning vehicles) arrives at the makeshift camp where Cassie, Sam, and her father are staying. The soldiers and commander, however, only appear interested in the children and promptly load them onto waiting buses before ordering all the adults into the camp barracks. Once the humans are surrounded, Commander Vosch orders a massacre and kills everyone at the camp. Cassie, however, narrowly escapes and witnesses her father's death by Vosch's hand. At this moment, the 4th wave becomes clear: not all "humans" are actually humans.

Fifth wave: The Fifth wave is referenced in "The Last Star".

'' Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him. Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death. When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink. ''

This book drove me crazy
I felt like riding a roller-coaster while reading this. It is just…. (can’t describe it). This book has all emotions into one! I felt happy then excited then curious then burst into tears! The plot is simple but the emotions are just a heaviness that, I don’t think this book would be everyone’s cup of tea. If you don’t like depress, pressure and death, you better don’t pick this book!

Plot
It is simple and unexpected. Most of the settings are in Indianapolis and Jennifer Niven made a great job on taking us the readers into voyaging Indianapolis. She wrote such beautiful and neat sentences to describe the places. When I read the book , I could feel the journey at Indianapolis, it is like I am the one who is in the place, not just by reading it. I felt like I want to travel to Indianapolis after reading the book <3

The Characters
They are complex! I really love how she wrote POVs for both of the main characters, Finch and Violet. Especially Theodore Finch’s POV  because he is boy and well we girls know that boy’s mind is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from girls. Especially when Jennifer Niven added ‘a little abnormal’ things for Finch character. The way he talked, unexpected things, changing of emotional, caring. For people, he is a ‘freak, weird, nonsense’ but he is kind of person that you-will-love-once-you-know-them and he just need a little more attention and love from family (which breaks my heart). He has no ambitions, goals, and plans but that makes him keeps alive. Oh and I love his sister, Kate because she is cool and supporting.  For Violet Markley , she is someone , well we can say ‘normal’ at outside. I mean, we could categorize people into two which is normal and abnormal . But that could only apply for the outside view because no one is normal inside , aren’t we? That’s how I describe her. She is a beautiful nerd, popular and very well in writing. But, when she loses her beloved sister, Eleanor , her life changed 180 degrees . She no longer rides car, cheerleading, writing, she is like an alive body with dead soul. Luckily, Finch becomes her lifesaver, same goes to Finch. Sadly, a happy ending isn’t just flowing like that forever.  ‘…as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.’

Emotions- Only one word to describe this, roller-coaster

SPOILERS ALERT!!!
Last thought- I WAS SO SAD when SPOILER ALERTS LAST CHANCE!!!

Finch died . I mean, after all of the things happened, he… died…. It is just like Me Before You by Jojo Moyes L And it is even sadder when he sent his last message to Violet in which he already visited the last places of their project. And he even left messages and things for Violet at every places . It was so hard to continue reading it when all left was Violet finding the last piece of memory Finch left at the brightest places they chose… (Still can’t move on)

This book made me realise about how important attention to people of our surroundings.  All people are different.  Someone might acts weird and different, it might be because he needs attention or love. Or maybe he has a disease. From my research, there are many disease in the world including the diseases that are undiagnosed. For example, dyslexia and bipolar. If our friends have these kind of disease , the surroundings might thought he is a slow learner or untalented or etc.  For people with these disease, they are struggling, suffering  and aching. They themselves thought they are a slow learner, they felt insecure , doubtful and self-conscious because they believe what the people are saying, ‘slow learner’, ‘dumb’ , ‘foolish’. I found out that most of the person who is afflicted by a disease doesn’t know about it for years , even 20 years! How much they suffered because of us, ignorant people. So, change ourselves, care of people, although we didn’t get the same treat back.

Pssss, i got the signed-copy! <3 And Jennifer Niven liked my picture on Instagram <3

Well gonna give it a try but it is going to be a long voyage before I touch this because I want to finish the other books first :3 probably not going to buy the second book, Sky Call . Popular Book Fair 2016

Assalamualaikum and hello guys!
So, I went to Popular Book Fair/ Viva Book Sale/ RM5 Book Sale / All RM5 Fiesta which was located at Viva Expo Hall, KL from 9 Sep  - 18 Sep 2016.
IT WAS THE BEST BOOK FAIR EVER because each book only costs RM5 / USD 1.20! Crazy ain’t it? It was organized by Popular Bookstore which is THE BEST bookstore in Malaysia because they always offer discount on novels <3
I went there FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER with my parents on the second day of the book fair. And my mother treated 10 books each of us siblings. But they don’t have any interesting comics or other books unrelated to novels so I am the only one who bought many books , oh my luck XD

But I only chose 8 books because basically I am not in the mood of reading and final is coming huhu! I actually want to stop reading from September until November but… you know you couldn’t resist books once you read them. But I am relieved that I filtered many books and chose only 8 books, that’s a record ! I have many TBR in my room so I need to choose books wisely. Fortunately they sells many popular books but the popular one is the hardest to find. I got like 3 popular books only but I am so jelly with the others who got many popular books! I felt like crying and want to go there again! Bersyukur jelah cik oi XD

So here we go!  8 precious gems that only cost RM40 <3

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven(Hardcover + Signed)Can you guys believe it, I GOT THE HARDCOVER + SIGNED!!!! This book was the first one I saw at the entrance of the hall. And, I don’t even know it was signed! We went to the airport after the book fair and I checked the book while eating and I found out it was signed. I was about to scream and go crazy lol. Some of my friend didn’t get the signed one, I think only mmm…. halfor quarter of the book was signed and I am so glad I got it eventhough I just snatched it randomly. I even analysed the signature and I found out it was live-signed by Jennifer Niven , it is not a printed one . Saranghaeyo Jennifer Niven <3*Pssss can’t wait for the movie, Elle Fanning’s fan hereNORMAL PRICE – RM88.90

2. How I Discovered Poetry by Marilyn Nelson (Hardcover)This book is not very popular but I am glad I got this because basically this is my first-ever-poem book! Plus, the cover is just magnificent and classic <3 I really want a poem book but they are just so expensive and rarely got discount I bumped into this book when I was going to make the payment. I don’t realize the book at first although I walked in that row several times hoho :3 Can’t wait to read it.NORMALPRICE – RM41.95 for paperback ( the hardcover usually costs twice the paperback)

3. The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley (Hardcover)I was about to abandon this book before I never see this book before (don’t judge a book by its cover popularity). But I really love classic story/ children’s POV/ children in war story and the reviews are good on goodreads. So, I took it. And The cover is really simple yet pretty. The title of the book is also intriguing, I mean, how can a war saved a life when it’s supposed to be a disease and unpleasant things? Oh can’t wait to read it <3NORMAL PRICE – RM38.50 for Paperback ( the hardcover usually costs twice the paperback)

4. Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein (Hardcover)Okay, I picked the book at first because the cover is so joyful. But I was hesitated to buy it because not all books with beautiful cover is great so I checked up the book on Goodreads. And the reviews are good and the synopsis seems unique and playful!NORMAL PRICE – RM24.90 for paperback ( the hardcover usually costs twice the paperback)

5. Sally Ride – America’s First Woman In Space by Lynn Sherr (Paperback)Obviously I found this book at Biography Section. This is the only biography that caught my eyes. I really want to collect many biography because, I want to be like them! Unfortunately this is the only one that is interesting The others are the persons I don’t know or like billionaire and political figures. I hope this won’t be bored , well you know, nonfiction books.NORMAL PRICE – RM109.90 for hardcover ( the hardcover usually costs twice the paperback)
 6. The Walking Dead – Descent by Jay Bonansinga (Paperback)This is not my style, horror-zombie-blood. But I bought this for my best friend, she is a fanatic of TWD! But I don’t know if she would love it because…. This is a novel and I just found out this have the sequel/prequel idk. When I was at the book fair, I just took it when I saw TWD because I promised her to get a book when I go to a book fair. RM5 using my own money isn’t a big deal for best friend ceh xD I actually found the only hardcover of it but it was horribly damaged so I had to get the paperback one. Hope she would like it <3NORMAL PRICE – Unknown (it is 11.22 PM now and I am to lazy to search for the price on internet)

7. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey (Paperback)Yey this was on my Want-to-read bookshelf because it is dystopian, my favourite genre! I was about to miss this book because I didn’t notice it as first xD Luckily I found the book although it has a minor damage because I didn’t check this book first, too busy to catch the time haha . (I was hoping to get The Divergent Series because I watch the first movie and it was fascinating!) At least I got this ^_^NORMAL PRICE – RM41.95
 8. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey (Hardcover)Last but not least, the second book of The 5th Wave Trilogy. Yeyyyy, this was the second book I picked after All The Bright Places :3 I found this first before The 5th Wave. It has been a long time since i wrote my last post here! I don't think so that i am going to continue this blog, i don't have time bcs of school, reading, etc .. Asif jiddan. Well it is not likely that you are going to anticipate my post lol xD

So.... i made a new blog using WIX . I really love blogger.com but the new version just pissed me off :/ now it is hard to handle the html code here. I don't have to organize my own code in WIX so it is just fine for me. I made a new one to review books or book-talking! Hopefully it would be good, (ps. please pardon my grammatical mistakes, yeah i suck in writing ~
