KDRAMA : SBS Still 17

Assalamualaikum and hello!

Currently I am in a week mid-sem holiday (but it's ending too soon T.T)
To enjoy the leisure time, I binge-watch Still 17 or 30 But 17

I wasn't expecting much from this drama. Just give a trivial glimpse on it on Dramalike website (when I want to download Gangnam Beauty). But, because I was bored, I try to watch the drama since it's quite popular in Korea and my friend also recommended this to me, so, why not?



BUT I WAS ASTOUNDED the moment i watch it! The cinematography, bgm, ambience, editing, is just... impeccable. Not extravagant or tooooo bam, but I could feel the sincere, heart into the production, idk why lol.

Also, the humor is just ... DAEBAK. The humor flow naturally, corresponding with the story. It's just, idk, it's just for a moment i was just watching it with eagerness, a second later i burst of laughter like crazy person (that kinda annoyed my family haha xD)

It's quite hard to find a heart-warming drama that gives off this kind of vibe. It's a light drama with subtle tension, but it still get me the anticipating feeling.

Character Brief Review

GONG WOO JIN
Ok, his personality is  REALLY WEIRD. One in a million. The first impression, with the long hair and messy beard, that's really a rare way of introducing the hero of the drama. Usually, the male lead would be presented as hot or quirky with great fashion sense, the cinematography bla bla all. But this is just...

oh WAIT until he come out again with clean,ethral face and hairstyle that will make you fall in love in first sight!

His personality, is really wow . He's conceited, self-centred and doesnt give a damn to anyone or anything. He is the most ignorant character i've ever seen. You'll just be flabbergasted by how he doesn't care of his appearance or what's on others' eyes (but he is actually really kind and does care to certain people).  In the past, he was a bright, euphoric and jubilant boy, but because of the mortifying incident occured, he drastically blame himself and mentally affected. That's why he shut himself from the world, terrified that he would once again mingle in others life T.T

But the presence of Woo Seo Ri as the metamorphic genesis that bring the ray of light in his life again. The character development is just so realistic and satisfying, how he open himself slowly as Woo Seo Ri gives him hope again, to be happy.
*Yang Se Jong is my new bae T.T

WOO SEO RI
Our heroine! I really love her character so much. Shin Hye-Sun is really a versatile and top-notch actress, she pulled off her character really well. Woo Seo Ri was in coma for 13 years due to bus accident. She wakes up as a 30 years-old woman. Imagine how hard it is for her to overcame the 'drastic transition of her life'? She missed intentionally the most precious moment of her life, last high school days, university life, graduation. Her dream in pursuing violin also shattered because of it. But, I love how optimistic and her ardentness towards violin. But she's not that typical kind of optimistic lead girl in other dramas. Her will and passion is just realistic and sincere.

Also, because she just awake from the coma, she still has the 17 years old mentality. From the synopsis, I was skeptical, expecting a childish behavior, but heck no. Her absent-minded personality (because she passed a decade more of life when the technology development is burgeoning around the world) didn't even annoy me at all. Even she's still confused to adapt to the 'new' world, that doesn't make her look dumb, pabo. Her acting is natural and her 17 years old mentality didn't disrupt the character. She started to accept the fact she's 30 years old now and just move on with her life!

YOO CHAN
He's soooooo precious, loving, innocent, vital and kind >.< How he even notice and save a midget chick from the bicycle, persisting his uncle (Mr. Gong a.k.a Gong Woo Jin) to let Woo Seo Ri to stay with them and lighten up Ahjumma life (Woo Seo Ri)!

But one think I want to point out here is that, I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZED HE'S THE MALE LEAD in a special-short drama Queen Of The Ring! I just felt like, oh he is cute, and hot and cute and kind and cute and adorable and helpful and cute and kindhearted i hope he'll be offered male lead in the future. Only realizing it just a while when I was looking at the asianwiki *facepalm *QOTRisgoodyoushouldgowatchittooooooo,Ahn Hyo Seop is really different there!*hotter

"Don't Think, Feel!"

JENNIFER
We have the weird Mr.Gong, we also have the weird mysterious yet caring housekeeper! She talked like a robot and act as the 'living-wikipedia'. She's keen in her work and do everything impeccably! On the other hand, she has the soft spot to the family+Woo Seo Ri that's invisible from other vision. Also, she seems to have a  melancholic past, well seems like we need more eps to unveil the mystery!

DOEK GOO , DEOK SOO & HAE BEOM
Doek Goo IS FREAKING CUTE ADORABLE CUTE IM CRYING. Deok Soo and Hae Beom are Yoo Chan's best pal and mate in rowing team (?)
Doek Soo (always mistaken with Deok Goo, poor ya), look a lot older from his actual age but actually a happy-go-lucky friend! The smartest out of 3 i would say)
Hae Beom, a rich one but helpful and always bright! Their quirky behavior didn't annoy or cringe me because it just feel sincere (this drama is made our of 100000% of sincere <3). I like how they always call Woo Jin 'Samchul' (uncle) and treat him as if he's their real samchul xD


Verdict - 1000000% recommending this! Can't wait to see the sweet yet innocent bloom between Woo Jin and Seo Ri <3 I just hope that the drama could continue the normal airing schedule despite the Asian Games 2018 :' *hoping deeply
